Default Destiny: Rise of Iron Details to be Unveiled Next Week

Some new details are coming down the pike for the next upcoming expansion for Destiny, Rise of Iron. Bungie announced on its official website this week that there will be some big news for the Crucible mode in the game. The announcement for the details will be held during the Rise of Iron livestream event for Gamescom.

Bungie will reveal "new details about the Crucible" during the event. World design lead Steve Cotton and Crucible lead designer Lars Bakken will be showing off the reveal, which will include new game modes, maps and features for Destiny: Rise of Iron. The Bungie blog post added, "They'll lay down some additional context while two Fireteams engage each other."

Other Destiny material planed for next week is the next edition of the Bungie ViDoc, which will showcase the "entire Rise of Iron player experience," including a brand-new look at Felwinter Peak and the Plaguelands. This reveal will also offer some developer across all aspects of the Rise of Iron expansion.

The livestream at Gamescom is set for Tuesday, August 16. It will be broadcast live on Bungie's Twitch channel starting at 10:00 am PST / 1:00 pm EST.

Destiny: Rise of Iron is set to feature a new social space, new Crucible maps, new gear, a new Raid, new story quests and the return of the Gjallarhorn. The expansion arrives on September 20 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It will not be available for PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.
