Encountered a guy with a shotgun I wanted and proceeded to walk up to him and put 6 shotgun blasts into him at point blank range. The guy flinched and blood sprayed all 6 times, he didn't die or as far as he knew take any damage. He didn't realize I'd even shot him. I show 2 combat encounters I had shortly before this just to show, I was registering hits/kills with my weapons in that play session. Is this a new bug in the game? I believe the guy when he said he wasn't hacking. In any event, a minute or so later someone else headshot him with a crossbow and he dies as you'll see. Is that enough for Daybreak to go on to track down a potential bug?

The basics behind maximizing your loot from Misty Peak Dam. Given the limited number of locations on the map where tan military backpacks and tactical armor can be found, the most efficient way for players who don't "live" near them to get those items is to do "dam runs". After eliminating all local defenders, UnExPeCTeD clan executed a raid on an enemy clan's base with a poorly implemented foundation extension "gatehouse". The lack of a double height inner wall allowed UnExPeCTeD clan to blow through their outer gate, drive a pickup truck up the ramp onto the foundation expansion, and jump from the top of the truck cab over the metal wall at no cost to us in IEDs/Biofuel/Ethanol. Would an Upper Metal Wall there have saved their base from us on this occasion? No. We had enough explosives to flatten the base three times over. It would have made us expend more resources and time though. Giving them a chance to organize a counterattack. It also would have saved the internal shelters of the base from a raid by a less well-resourced attack force.

Just a few views of Jericho, the player-built town on The Stronghold whitelist server. Ran across it on my way to Eastwood and was immediately struck by its wide open and unfortified design. Unusual for an H1Z1 player settlement. There are stores where clothes and food can be bartered. They are also constructing a fighting arena nearby that I may show in a future video.

UnExPeCTeD clan has been holding a 1v1 Tournament with a grand prize of $50 in Steam cash. The fights have been going on for a few days but I did not take part in any until today. Here are some of the fights that went on today. Basically one person challenges another and the combatants agree on a weapon. No armor, no healing, etc. It should be interesting to see who will win the $50 at the end and secure bragging rights over the entire clan.

A raid that lasted nearly 3 hours (edited down to 13 minutes) door to door leaving our base(s) on the other side of the map and returning home. 12 men and women undertook this particular operation. It turned out to be one of the hairiest raids I've had the fortune to record. The position was a nightmare, 2 bases up on top of the highest elevation in the area with almost ZERO cover within hunting rifle range except a single low-walled developer-placed compound. Both bases had defenders inside them and we had to plant explosives under fire the entire time on the first deck. We could not reliably hit the guys in the bee-box base further away from our cover so we resorted to suppressing fire just to keep their snipers' heads down. It worked. We had little loss of life and we dealt with the reinforcements that kept showing up in a truck. Quite a nice loot haul out of those 2 bases.

A look at the first pass of the grouping system's HUD interface on the H1Z1 PVP Test Server. As of right now there's not much more to it than a list with a speaker icon when someone speaks. The nameplate system is broken on Test at this time so the grouping and speaker icons on the nameplates can't be evaluated yet. More to come when those are fixed by Daybreak.

A tour of one of UnExPeCTeD Clan's bases. This one's primary purpose is to support the gathering of metal from the Dirty Deeds point of interest. The secondary purpose of the facility is overflow storage of cars should the other bases in the area run out of parking space. The tertiary purpose of the base is as secondary housing for players who feel they have too much loot concentrated in their primary residence and want to distribute their storage risk with another living space. I was the primary builder on this project and followed my usual base build/design principle of compartmentalization. No single deck is accessible from another deck without blowing through at least 1 gate, in some cases 2 gates. Some of the decks are deliberately kept empty as "dummy decks", placing the signs of being occupied in the rooms such as workbenches, furnaces, barbecues, etc to give the illusion they are occupied and induce raiders to waste explosives blowing down doors to empty rooms. You can see the design also swallows up access to 3 warehouses on the site providing even more space for car storage should the need ever arise to store a very large number of cars on site. Another feature of my builds is that stairs and watchtowers are segregated from living areas and can only be accessed via gates. Meaning raiders who somehow get on the roof (jumping a car for example) and drop into an unroofed deck have no way to get out. Lastly, wherever possible I place shelters in such a way that in addition to doors, a metal gate also blocks access to it. Causing the investment in IEDs/Biofuel/Ethanol to go up for each room to be accessed by raiders.

If you run to the end of Governor's Way on one of the Test Servers for H1Z1 you will find just over the hill to the north a building sunk into the ground. It is presumably the new hospital the developers at Daybreak have been working on and talking about adding to the game. Obviously its appearance in the game is likely an error. The last time the added a major POI was when they revamped Mysty Peak Dam and they made a huge deal about it beforehand. Nevertheless, this is about where the hospital should be and I was able to get into the top floor but beware its buggy. You can fall through the roof but the roof will prevent you getting out. You can get out if you make it to the stairs that lead to the roof. Also logging out inside the hospital seemed to spawn me outside whenever I got stuck.

A brief look at the fighting arena on the outskirts of the neutral player-built city Jericho on H1Z1's "The Stronghold" whitelist server. It is dedicated to fighting with low-tech weapons such as bows, spears, baseball bats, etc. On one side of the arena is a ramp leading down from an adjacent deck that serves as a dressing room for the combatants. They have secure shelters with containers for them to leave their gear inside of to retrieve after the games. Inside the arena are scattered several storage containers full of available weapons for the fighters to use. The arena's interior is festooned with obstacles such as punji sticks, wall obstacles, and structure stairs. The design seems inspired by paintball arenas or laser tag. The arena is essentially 4 ground tampers arranged in a square with 4 watchtowers in each corner. In each tower I found arrows and flaming arrows inside a storage container. It seems the combatants jump into the arena unarmed and must obtain their weapons during the match in a nod to The Hunger Games. May the odds be ever in your favor.

Running around on The Stronghold whitelist server I came across this newly-built large base (~10 foundations) near the neutral ground of the player-built town, Jericho. I discovered the gates were unlocked and decided to go in and have a look around.
